Parts Of Speech
Each word used in a sentence is called Parts of Speech.
Another name for Parts of Speech is Word Class or Lexical Class. It was first
discussed in a book called 'Nirukta' written in India between
700 and 500 AD.
Kinds of Parts of Speech: In English, it is of 8 types. E.g.
1. Noun
2. Pronoun
3. Adjective
4. Verb
5. Adverb
6. Preposition
7. Conjunction
8. Interjection

Noun-
naming word-
Thailand, pencil, honesty, cow, etc.
Pronoun-
substituting word- I, she, they, it,
etc.
Adjective-
qualifying word- meritorious,
happy, Indian, kind, etc.
Verb-
an action word-
study, play, have, laugh, etc
Adverb-
modifying word- very, carefully, only,
extremely, etc.
Preposition- relating
word- on, in, beside, under,
etc.
Conjunction- joining
word- and, but, therefore, or,
etc.
Interjection-
exclaiming word- Alas!, Hush!, Oh!, Wow!, etc.

The Noun: A Noun is a word used to name or identify any
of a class of things, people, animals, places, or ideas, or a particular one of
these.
The Pronoun:
A pronoun is a word used in place of a Noun or Noun Phrase.
The Adjective:
An Adjective is a word that indicates a quality of the person or thing referred
to by a Noun.
The Verb: A
verb is a word indicating an action, an event, or a state.
The Adverb: An
Adverb is a word used to modify any part of speech.
The Preposition: A Preposition is a word placed before a noun or a pronoun or a
Noun-equivalent to show its relation to any other word of the sentence.
The Conjunction: A conjunction is a word used for joining one word to another
