   Mecca

   Tien Amen Square

  •  This word means the arch of eternal peace.
  •  Its location is the Beijing Arrow of China.
  •  Standing in this square, on October 1, 1949, Mao Zedong declared China a socialist state.
  •  Thousands of Chinese students protested at the site in June 1989, demanding democracy. As a result, scores of students were killed by artillery and tank fire.
  •  The joyous occasion of the 1997 handovers of Hong Kong was celebrated in this square.

   The Taj Mahal

  •  Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built this picturesque memorial on the tomb of his wife Mumtaz Mahal with the help of 20 years of labor of 22,000 lakhs.

    Palashi

  •  On 23 June 1757, Lord Clive, the English general, and Nawab Sirajuddaula of Bengal-Bihar-Orissa fought at this place and the Nawab fell.


    Golden Temple

  •  The holy temple of the Sikhs located in the city of Amritsar in the Punjab province of India.
  •  In 1984, the Indira Gandhi government of India sent a 'Blue Star' mission to the temple to suppress the freedom-loving Sikhs. This caused outrage among the Sikh community. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was shot dead by Sikh bodyguards.
  •  Sikhs are followers of Guru Nanak.


    Babri Mosque

  •  This historic mosque is located in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India.
  •  It was built in the 16th century by the Mughal emperor Zahiruddin Muhammad Babar.

   The hanging garden of Babylon

  •  Hanging gardens built on the banks of the Euphrates River in Iraq in 600 BC.
  •  It was made by King Nebuchadnezzar.
  • It was one of the Seven Wonder of the ancient world. 
  •  This beautiful garden was completely destroyed in 514 AD in a bloody battle with the neighboring Persian Empire.
  • One of the pillars in the city was named Babylon, by which Babylon was probably named.
