Golden Temple

- In 1984, the Indira Gandhi government of India sent a 'Blue Star' mission to the temple to suppress the freedom-loving Sikhs. This caused outrage among the Sikh community. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was shot dead by Sikh bodyguards.

Babri Mosque
